Fall Maintenance at Native Oaks
September 28 at 12 PM – October 2
The golf course will be closed for overseeding and green aeration. Shawii Kitchen will be closed September 30 only.
October 3 – October 31
Course will be cart path only to allow new grass to grow in. Rates will be discounted during this period to reflect playing conditions.
Why do we overseed & aerify?
Aerification alleviates compaction, improves drainage, reduces thatch, removes accumulated organic material, strengthens the soil, and improves the root system of the grass. Aerification is the number one most important cultural practice we perform on the golf course. Overseeding introduces new grass to the golf course to grow in and thrive over the dormant Bermuda grass canopy which helps protect the dormant stand of Bermuda from winter play/traffic, keeps the course green, and provides ideal playing condition in our cooler winter months here at Native Oaks Golf Club.
